Quest to Learn is a school for digital kids. It is a community where students learn to see the world as composed of many different kinds of systems. It is a place to play, invent, grow, and explore.
The Q2L PTA usually meets regularly on the first Monday of each month at 6:30PM in the library, unless another date is announced.
Organization Mission Statement / Primary Objective:
Quest To Learn PTA helps support the mission of Quest To Learn (Q2L) middle school, a joint venture between the NYC Department of Education, The Institute of Play, The New School, and other supporting partners. As we REIMAGINE LEARNING, Q2L develops and applies a revolutionary approach to learning, which rethinks traditional pedagogy to explore and apply new ideas of systems thinking and collaboration in education. The Q2L PTA provides organizational support and evangelizes the mission of this one-of-a-kind program as it develops and is eventually offered as one of many alternatives as a new vision to meet the educational demands of an increasingly digital media world in the 21st century.
1. To take an active role in decisions concerning the education of our Q2L students.
2. To ensure the health, safety and welfare of all Q2L students.
3. To promote an effective learning environment for students and to support the concept of collaborative education.
4. To promote and develop a cooperative and respectful working relationship between parents, PTA Board Members, Executive Directors, teachers and staff of M 422 (Q2L).
5. To provide curricular and extra-curricular support and resources for the benefit and educational growth of the students.
6. To develop parent leadership and build capacity for greater involvement on all levels.
7. To conduct fundraising activities to support the above objectives.
